A Big Thank You Is Not Enough.
The Landscape Symposium.
I have always been fascinated by the natural world. Urban and industrial settings are expanding exponentially. No matter how we define phrases like "sustainable" or "environmentally friendly," industrial and urban development are harming the planet, the environment, the ecology, and the majority of human existence. Landscape mitigates the effect. It is even more crucial to address landscape if you want to try to enhance the environment.
However,
even though the landscape is important and admired from an aesthetic
standpoint, its proper implementation is hampered by a lack of knowledge among
the general public and professionals on a technical level.
This background was what
inspired me to promote Landscape. I
tried to hold lectures for many years, but I was unsuccessful. We then made progress three years ago. If you live in Nasik, Ar. Apeksha Kute Madam
and landscape go hand in hand. Mam
finally consented to our request for a talk with suggestion of the
Symposium. I got the support of Ar. Ritu
Sharma and a motivated group from the Architects and Engineers Association
Nasik, so this time there was no turning back.
A
core group was formed of Ar. Apeksha Mam
, Ar. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Prajakta Baste, Ar.Amruta Pawar, Ar. Krushna Rathi, Ar.
Nandan Malani Ar. Monali Patil, Ar. Shruti Dabir. Ar. Mrunmayee Pendase. The
few deliberations and energetic involvement of Ritu the symposium was
finalised.
When the flyer was released, we
were anticipating April 18, 2020. But a total lockdown was declared after a
short while. A little disappointment was
present, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Then the thought of doing this
online surfaced, but I personally preferred the first Landscape Symposium to be
held offline. When the pandemic was
over, I step downed as president of the
Architects and Engineers Association of Nasik, but the idea was not
abandoned. Ritu was responsible for
bringing in more energetic and youthful members to the group, including Ar. Shubham Patil, Ar.
Anand Bhamre, Ar. Swapnil Joshi, Ar. Aditi Borikar Gokhale, Ar. Nitesh Patil,
Ar. Sagar Sonawane. The SEEED forum was being nurtured.
The Symposium was carefully
prepared with the help of this youthful talent and Apeksha Mam's nimble leadership,
Ritu's unwavering enthusiasm as usual, and Shubham and team's dynamism. The
programme plan was frozen with a few setbacks. I was even happier because the
event was being held at Vairaj Kaladalan.
The
Vairaj was elegantly decorated on the day of the performance. The exterior had fantastic landscaping.
That's It, Renuka Irrigation,
Hindustan pipes, and Papaya Nursery supported the Symposium.
After
three years of waiting, D Day finally arrived on April 29, 2023. The seed sowed
three years back had sprouted.
Ritu is the best storyteller, so
hearing her describe Landscape through memories and stories is a magical
experience in and of itself. Swapnil
Joshi offered a unique perspective that praised the diversity of Indian culture
and admired the harmony in disorder.
If
you're a true nature lover, you take showers in the rain. Monali sprinkled Ecoscape on a hot April day.
By using stories, Prajakta Mam was able to explain the seemingly dry and
technical subject of geography and geology, making audience travel to the
scene. You will always remember this journey.
Finally
the actual design gesture how the philosophy and thoughts are executed and who
else than the Master herself. It was fascinating to hear Apeksha Mam's silent
explanations The thought process behind her works was a mesmerizing experience
Nandan
is a pupil of Ar. Mohamed Shaheer Sir, the Master. He has pleased his master,
Nandan, ideas are vast, thus the grandeur of his creations will always have an
impact on us.
The
symposium was success and the vision and intuition of SEED forum a reality. I
had no idea Nasik had so many MLAs. (Master in Landscape Architecture). It was
fantastic to see so many landscape professionals work together to make this
event a success.
A
big thank you is not enough
